CCF Magazine triumphs at annual Rainier PR pub quiz

15 March 2007

CCF (Call Centre Focus) magazine walked away from Soho’s Clachan pub this week holding the coveted Rainier PR Media Pub Quiz 2007 trophy after a nail-biting finish. The magazine’s seven-strong team triumphed on the final tie-breaker question against a combined team of IT journalists.

Other attendees at the event included teams from analyst groups Ovum and Datamonitor, plus tech publications Computer Business Review, IEE Review, IT Week, Computer Weekly, Zero Down Time and various freelancers. 2006 winners IT Week lost its crown as CCF clocked an impressive 39.5 points out of 60 available. Here it beat a combination team by more closely estimating the number of Joneses to have played rugby for Wales (73).

“It was a great night out and we’ve put the trophy proudly on display in our office,” said CCF editor, Claudia Hathway. “We all learned some useless trivia factoids and fully intend to be there next time round to jealously defend our trophy!” CCF’s victorious team were also awarded a bottle of Taittinger champagne and £25 Amazon vouchers each.

Chris Lee , quiz master and director at Rainier PR, said: “Congratulations to CCF magazine and a big thanks to everyone who came along to what is proving to be an increasingly popular event. We all felt a little worse for wear the next day but it’s all worthwhile.”
