Wadds’ Tech PR Blog picks up industry gong

Rainier PR’s company weblog has won ‘Best Weblog’ at the annual Communicators in Business Awards’, receiving a glowing commendation from the judging panel. The blog, in its first year after various previous guises, was described as “excellent” and awarded five out of a possible five by the event organisers.

Rainier PR received the award from former athlete Steve Cram MBE at a ceremony held at the Newcastle-Gateshead Hilton, where Wadds’ Tech PR Blog also received an Award of Excellence from Communicators in Business at the event.

Wadds’ Tech PR Blog takes a light-hearted view of events relevant to the technology public relations industry and is penned by, and sometimes ghosted by staff for, Stephen ‘Wadds’ Waddington, co-founder and managing director of leading UK technology agency Rainier PR.

Communicators in Business judges praised Wadds’ Tech PR Blog for its style, high-quality production and innovative use of imagery. The use of ‘cross-blogging’ - referencing other industry blogs – was also cited as a key reason for nomination.

“Using methods such as blogging to rise up the search engine rankings is critical to generate awareness for our company, so it’s great to be recognised among the best modern communicators in the country,” said Waddington. “The awards show that Rainier PR has its finger on the pulse when it comes to social media.”
