Corvil| Launching CorvilNet 4.0

Dublin-based Corvil was launching its CorvilNet 4.0 product in the UK, Irish and US markets and selected Rainier PR to publicise it. As a highly technical product focused on provisioning low latency networks, Rainier PR needed to make the subject matter appealing and understandable to journalists in the IT and finance press, Corvil’s key target market.

The campaign

Rainier PR devised a campaign aimed at demonstrating the value to businesses of being able to analyse their network traffic in millisecond timeframes. The team concentrated on the fact that, unlike Corvil’s competitors, CorvilNet actually did what it said on the tin.

Built around advanced microsecond traffic measurement and real-time QoS-aware algorithms, CorvilNet 4.0 sets a new standard for network performance monitoring and intelligent bandwidth provisioning analysis. As new technologies, such as Web 2.0, electronic trading and virtualisation impact corporate networks it has become imperative for those systems to be optimised to avoid collapse.

Rainier PR drafted a launch release for CorvilNet 4.0 which was pitched to press under embargo in conjunction with an implementation release at the London Stock Exchange. A face-to-face media tour was conducted in the UK and telephone briefings conducted with Irish and UK press. Rainier PR facilitated nine briefings for the company with publications such as IT Week, eWeek, The Irish Independent, Silcon Republic, ComputerWire and TechWorld.

In advance of the press interviews, briefings were set up with key industry analysts, including Gartner, IDC, Ovum and Current Analysis. Analysts were briefed in advance in case any press wished to speak with them about the CorvilNet offering and how it compared with others in the market.

The results

In total Rainier PR secured 23 pieces of coverage across the UK, Irish and US media. During the week when CorvilNet 4.0 was launched, Corvil received 23 leads and saw significantly increased in bound web activity.
